Russel Bentheimer

 

Russel G. Bentheimer, 84, of Watertown, died November 22, 2004, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.

 

Funeral services were held at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown with the Rev. Stephen Savides officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

The Hafemeister Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Russel was born November 7, 1920, in the town of Milford, son of George and Hattie (Haubenschild) Bentheimer. He married the former Lorraine Reinhard on August 10, 1946, at Evangelical Reform Church in Watertown.

 

Russel attended grade school in Lake Mills and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1936. He had been employed at the former Wicker Mobil Service Station in Watertown and was a delivery route driver for the former Dairylane, also in Watertown, for many years. He had also been employed at Carnation Instant Division in Oconomowoc until his retirement in 1982.

 

Russel was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Watertown Lions Club, receiving the Bruce Schlueter award in 1987. He was also a member of the Watertown Elks Lodge, and served on several committees. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed playing cards.

 

Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Bentheimer of Watertown; three daughters, Pam (Tom) Lippert of Seattle, Wash., Pennie Getman of Castorland, N.Y., and Bonnie (Victor) Phelps of Norfolk, Va.; a son, Mark (Peggy) Bentheimer of Lake Mills; a son-in-law, Tom Lewis of Poynette; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Claire in infancy and Sandra Lewis; a grandson; his parents; and a sister, Charlotte (Pete) Behrens.
