Herbert Dahl

Herbert (Penny) Dahl, 116 Lynn Street, died Saturday at his home from a heart attack. He
was found by a neighbor who had gone to the home and upon getting no response
entered the house and found Mr. Dahl dead in bed. Dr. W. J. Schmidt, Mayville,
Dodge county coroner, who was summoned after police had been notified,
pronounced death due to a heart attack. Mr. Dahl had not been seen by neighbors
during the day.
Mr. Dahl was born in Watertown on Sept. 2, 1895, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dahl.
He spent his life here. He served in the First World War and saw service
overseas. He was a member of both the American Legion and the Veterans of
Foreign Wars.
One sister, Mrs. Fred Frey, route 3, Jefferson,
survives. Mrs. Theodore Graf, this city, is an aunt and there are several
nieces and nephews who also survive.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Schmutzler funeral
home. The Rev. William B. Petherick of the First
Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Military rites will be in charge of the Legion and the
V. F. W.
