Mrs. John Feutz, 69, Dies; Rites Friday

 

City Resident Was Active in Many Groups

 

Mrs. John Feutz, 69, of 804 South Tenth Street, died at 10:45 o’clock last night after an illness and surgery.  She had been ill for the past seven weeks.

 

Born in Switzerland, she was the former Marie Balmer.  Her birth took place Aug. 3, 1893 and on Feb. 14, 1914 she was married in Switzerland to Mr. Feutz.  They came to the United States shortly after and settled in the Randolph area, coming here in 1917.  For many years she and her husband operated the Milford Dairy.

 

Mrs. Feutz is survived by her husband who at present is hospitalized with a heart condition, and three daughters, Mrs. Victor Imrie, route 1, Johnson Creek, Mrs. Paul H. Lindeman, Watertown and Mrs. Harold Brenton, Jefferson.  There are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  There is one brother, Fred, in Switzerland. 

 

One sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

 

Visited Her Homeland

 

Mrs. Feutz made several trips to Switzerland to visit relatives and friends and always enjoyed renewing old acquaintances in her homeland where she had many friends.  She was a kind and friendly woman.

 

A member of the First United Church of Christ, Evangelical and Reformed, she was active in the choir and the Ladies Aid Society.  She was also a member of the Watertown Chapter, Women of the Moose, Watertown Chapter Royal Neighbors of America, Violet Temple No. 18, Pythian Sisters, the Homemakers and Friendly Clubs and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary.  She had served as an officer of many of those organizations and took an active part in their programs and projects.

 

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, the Rev. R. J. Ratzlaff officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Friends may pay their respects at the Pederson Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Thursday and on Friday until noon after which the body will be taken to church.  The casket will not be open at the church.
