Heitz, Louise, b. 1847, d. 1931

The funeral of Mrs. Louise Heitz, widow of William Heitz, who died Monday noon, will be held Thursday afternoon with private services at the home, 1220 Main Street, at 2 o’clock, followed by services at 2:30 o’clock at the Nowack funeral home. The Rev. Arthur E. Schwarze, pastor of the Moravian church will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence to pay their respects beginning Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Heitz was a native of Germany. She was born November 20, 1847, her maiden name being Louise Albrecht. At the age of 19 years she came to this country, locating in the town of Milford. Four years later, in 1871, she married Mr. Heitz and they lived first on the farm of his father in the town of Milford. Five years later they moved to a farm in the town of Watertown. Mr. Heitz died on July 6, 1913, and some time later his wife retired and moved to this city to make her home.

About 16 years ago Mrs. Heitz suffered an attack of paralysis and this, together with complications and infirmities, rendered her an invalid.

Surviving are three daughters and four sons, Miss Ella at home, Mrs. Edward Krueger and Mrs. Frank Krueger of Janesville, William Heitz of Lake Mills, Edward Heitz of the town of Watertown and Theodore Heitz and John Heitz of this city. Two sons, Julius and Fred, preceded their mother in death. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Charles Hebenstreit of Milwaukee, and one brother, Fred Albrecht of route 6.

Mrs. Heitz was well known in this community and her friendships included a large number of people, both here and in the town of Watertown and the town of Milford.
