August H. Hoppe, 55, of
Hoppe, who resided in Watertown for
many years, living then at
Hoppe died of injuries
received when the steering wheel broke as a result of the impact, piercing his
chest.
He was the father of Police Officer
Edward Hoppe of Watertown who was on duty here when a call informing him of the
accident was received. He left for
Cudahy immediately.
Mr. Hoppe was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, as was
his first wife.
Mr. Hoppe, a former resident of
Watertown and for the past six years a resident of South Milwaukee, was born in
the town of Shields
Surviving are his second wife, the
former Alice Yeig to whom he was married
Mr. Hoppe was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church, South Milwaukee. He was a member of the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the E.M.B.A.
Prior to going to South Milwaukee to
work and live he had worked here for the Wisconsin Gas and Electric Co.
