Fred. H. Meyer, instructor
for the past 40 years in St. John's
Lutheran School in this city, died at his home, 411 North Fifth Street,
last Monday, of heart trouble. He was 61
years of age and was a resident of Watertown since 1868.
He is survived by his wife
and six children, also his aged mother, who is 90 years of age.
Thursday afternoon his
remains were interred in Oak
Hill Cemetery. Meyer, Heinrich,

Thursday
afternoon of last week the funeral of Fred. H. Meyer, for years past teacher in St. John's Lutheran
school, was held from his late home to St. John's Church. The pallbearers were: Herman Tetzlaff, Wm. Bittner, Fred. Kaddatz, Edward Barnick,
Wm. Scheel and Wm. Nickels. The floral offerings were carried by the
ladies' choir of the church, followed by the school board, mourners and members
of the last class taught by Mr. Meyer.
At the church ranks were opened and the remains carried into the church
as the band played "Nearer, My God, to Thee." The funeral sermon was
preached by Rev. F. H. Eggers. Besides a
large number of teachers from surrounding towns, the following-named friends
were present: Mrs
George Harte, Misses Minnie Harte, Lena Harte, Waterloo; Henry Runge, Edward Runge, Havanna, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. M. E Bittner and daughter
Esther, Kankakee, Arthur Meyer, Kankakee; Mrs. G. H. Kaddatz,
Loyal; Bernhard Meyer, Fisherville, Cascada; Miss Clara Bockhans,
Addison, Ill.
