Dorothy Nagle
1924 - 2010
Dorothy L. Nagle,
86, of Watertown, passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2010, at Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake
Mills.
The former Dorothy
Louise Bast was born on April 24, 1924, in Watertown,
the daughter of William and Margaret (Voigt) Bast. She attended grade school in Watertown and was
a 1942 graduate of the Watertown Senior High School. On Feb. 2, 1946, Dorothy married Donald Victor
Nagle at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Dorothy had been a
cook at St. John's Lutheran School in Watertown and was then employed at Brandt
Automatic Cashier in Watertown for many years until her retirement. Dorothy had enjoyed canning and crocheting. She also enjoyed listening to music by Charlie
Pride and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John's
Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Dorothy is survived
by five children, Bonnie (Ralph) Stueber of Watertown,
Jean (Dennis) Irvine of Oconomowoc, Sandy (Ron) Friederick
of Muscoda, Donna (Steve) Thielke of Reeseville and Donald (Julie) Nagle of Soldiers Grove; a
special niece, Vicky Higgins of Charlotte, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded
in death by her parents; her husband, Don, on July 29, 1964; a son, Michael
Dennis Nagle; and a brother, Lester Bast.
Funeral services
will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown
with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in
Watertown.
Relatives and
friends may call the church on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials, if desired, may be directed
toward the St. John's Lutheran Church Radio Fund or the charity of one's
choice.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of
arrangements.
The family wishes to
express their thanks to the second floor nursing staff at Watertown Regional
Medical Center, Sullivan EMS and the staff of Willowbrook
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion they have shown.
