Death of
Mrs. Johanna Schempf

1905
Sunday at
Deceased was in her usual good health until the
evening previous to her death, when she complained of feeling ill, the cause of
her death being general debility.
Deceased was born in Germany,
Mrs. Schempf was one of Watertown’s most esteemed
residents, and all who knew her were her friends. She possessed a kind, generous disposition,
and during her long life here was ever a most worthy citizen and neighbor.
Her surviving children were: Leonard Schempf and John Schempf, of this
city, Henry Schempf, of Fort Atkinson; Mrs. William Voss, of this city, Mrs.
Henry Christians, of Johnson Creek.
Fourteen grand children and three great-grand
children also survived her.
Her funeral was held from St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
and her remains were interned in Oak Hill Cemetery.
