Joseph Schuch

1917 - 2005

Joseph M. Schuch, 87, of Watertown, died January 8, 2005, at his home.

A memorial service will be held in May.

Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.

The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph was born Dec. 9, 1917, in Watertown, son of John and Catherine (Roets) Schuch. He married the former Margaret Kleck on April 25, 1942. Joseph was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army for four years, two of which were in the Southwest Pacific Campaign. He attained the rank of captain.

Joseph retired from the U.S. Postal Service as assistant postmaster and had also been employed as a real estate broker. He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown and American Legion Post No. 189.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Schuch of Watertown; a son, Jonathon J. (Patricia) Schuch of Brighton, Mich.; two grandchildren, Joseph H. (Laura) Schuch and Jean S. (Patrick) Rennich; his great-grandchildren, Timothy J. Schuch, Nicholas S. Schuch, Kristen G. Schuch, Jeremy K. Schuch, Emily J. Rennich and Owen K. Rennich.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Lillian Morris, Mildred Bredow, Dorothy Werneburg, Josephine Krueger and Agnes Justmann.
