Elaine E. Smith, 78, of Watertown, joined her husband
in heaven on
Funeral services will be held at

The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge
of arrangements.
Elaine was born
Elaine was a member of First Congregational United
Church of Christ in Watertown, where she was a member of the adult choir, had
directed the children's choir, and was on the board of Christian education. She
had also been a Brownie leader. Elaine will be forever remembered for her
beautiful singing voice.
Her other passion in life was genealogy, and she was a
member and officer of the Dodge/Jefferson
Counties Genealogy Society from its inception. She spent more than 20 years
tracing her family lines and helping others in their quests.
Elaine and Clarence were two of the original members
of the Wisconsin Camping Association and its Watertown Chapter.
Family was the most important part of her life and she
will be greatly missed by her four children, Annette (Karl) Wolf of Watertown,
Richard "Dick" W. Smith of Watertown, Betty (Jim) Siedschiag of
Monroe and Diane (Keith) Benson of Mount Horeb; 10 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren; a niece, Barbara (Greg) Wise of McFarland; a
brother-in-law, George H. Smith Sr. of Oconomowoc; a sister-in-law, Esther
Flater of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence
Smith on
Her family wishes to thank Dr. Bruce Cochrane, Dr.
Eric Miller and the staffs at Zinzendorf Hall in Watertown, Remembrance Home
and Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam for all the care and kindness given during
these last years of her life.
