Irene J. Triana, 81,
of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at the Watertown
Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1
p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Terry
Larson officiating. Burial will be in
Oak Hill Cemetery,
Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their
respects at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials may be given to the church or the
Autism Society of America.
The former Irene Jeanette Giese was born in Lake
Mills on Jan. 21, 1927, daughter of Walter and Doris Giese. On April 19, 1947, Irene married Nicholas Triana at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Watertown.
She was a 1944 graduate of Watertown High School
and a lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, its
church choir and ladies aid. She was
also a former member of the Euterpe Club and Saturday
Club, and was a volunteer at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown and its
Companion to Terminally Ill Program. Irene
had also served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts at Webster School. She enjoyed baking, cooking, walking and
playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Nicholas Triana of Watertown; a son, Terry (Teresa) Triana of Watertown; four grandchildren, Angela Triana, Matthew Triana, Lyndsey Kuehl and Korin Kuehl; a great-grandchild, Eagen Beck; two sisters, Delores Stauffer of Jefferson and
Phyllis (John) Vergenz of Cambridge; a brother,
Merlin Giese of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her
parents; a sister, Florence Nitka; and a brother,
Robert Giese.
