Ruth A. Wimmer
of Whitewater, formerly of Watertown, died October 17, 1999, at the Mulberry Glen Assisted
Living Center in Whitewater at the age of 90. She was born in Watertown on August
24, 1909,
the daughter of Otto and Clara (nee Schley) Goeldner. Ruth attended Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam and
married Joseph Wimmer on June 4,
1929, at
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Watertown. She was a member of St. Paul’s church
choir and enjoyed traveling, painting, drawing and reading and writing poetry.
She is survived by her two sons,
Judge Joseph E. (Sue) Wimmer of Waukesha and Winfield
Wimmer of Whitewater; seven grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph, on Sept.
5, 1987;
and one sister, Mabel Bennin.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at St.
Paul’s Episcopal Church in Watertown; the Rev. E. Charles Miller will
officiate. Interment will be held at Oak
Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the
Mulberry Glen Assisted Living Center in Whitewater are appreciated.
